I had this product for about 6 months and only now come to make reviews. Here are my thoughts on Sony DCR-DVD650 Handycam Camcorder:
Pro
Nice design
easy to use
great sight
able to take pictures in addition to video
ability to use the DVD or recording Memory Stick / photos
Cons:
DVD-quality standards to be limited to 30 minutes, is ideal for those wishing to register their child play or a degree or something that would last more than 30 minutes. For this you will need a large memory stick to hold so you can use your home PC for recording from memory stick to a standard size DVD.
As expected, the digital zoom is "grain" in appearance, when you zoom close to the maximum allowed. This is acceptable, but just know that you will not get a good picture of something larger as you would if the photo was actually closer.
All-in-all I am very satisfied with your purchase, and we believe it is possible to buy the best in its price class. I would buy again in the blink of an eye. That said, the day I won the lottery or have a lot of money available, I'm sure I would buy a more expensive with a little 'better zoom and built-in memory, in addition to the DVD-recording capabilities.
