I'm really happy with my new purchase. The picture quality is great and therefore the resolution on movies on DVD that I recorded so far. Even the low light performance is great.
Only downside is that it tends to give red eyes when using the flash for still images when light is insufficient and basic software included in the package is rather poor, if you want something serious to do something with the videos / photo .

Item arrived on time. Bought for my brother. Tested and works well. What I like the zoom (41x). My only concern is that you slide the lid manually. I was used to DC40, which is more automatic. Overall good buy.

I have this Handycam as a gift. I have done research on this Handycam and was happy to do it until he sat down and began to install the software. I thought something wrong so I itook back to where my wife had bought and went in circles with their Geek Squad, do not accuse me of having an old computer and not the right package and service over the geek has the same message that I have. I have another camera and went home to install the software, but not so fast, does not work, customer service, Sony is a joke as $ 149.95 and Geek Squad to install the software and the store wants to charge me 15% restocking fee so I'm sitting here with a new car that looks nice and I can not use. For those who intend to purchase one make sure a geek in the family, which enables the software to install or place a camera in your coat as I do.
