Well, I bought the DVD403E and 1 hour had the same problem with my lens cover, which I read over a large number of times (I had read before I bought).

I was about to break cover, when I read a review that said that an automatic coverage is very sensitive (too sensitive, if you ask me), in the dust. So before you break plyers or by calling Sony (which I understand is useless and expensive), I decided to open the cover and blow in this area "clear" and the particles that may be there. Honestly, I thought it would not work, but after 4 puffs I turned the car and Crazy Thing OPEN!

This was a great buy. The controls are easy to use. Small but very efficient.
